Betty Lewis was born on June 22, 1939 in Prattville, Alabama, the daughter of the late Milton A. Merchant and Thelma Jeanette Ross Merchant Rogers. On August 12, 1989, she was united in marriage to Joe Danny Lewis, who survives. Betty departed this life on December 8, 2017, at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 16 days.
Betty attended Bible Baptist Church in Camden, Alabama, where she lived for 40 years before moving to Hardin County. She enjoyed social media, especially Facebook, cooking, working with the computer, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her daughter, Sherry Fuller of Thomasville, Alabama and Lisa Bishop and husband Dale of Savannah, Tennessee; sons, Dalton Wade Hunt of Plymouth, Indiana and Scott Hunt and wife Sandy of New Hebron, Mississippii; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Bishop; son, Mark Hunt; sisters, Joyce Edwards and Gaynelle Hudgens; a grandchild, Shannon Bishop; and a great grandchild, Devin Bailey.
