Betty Linker

Betty Naylor Linker, 79, a native of Silerton, departed this life Thursday, May 12, 2016 at her home in Arizona.

Mrs. Linker was born Betty Faye Naylor in Silerton, Tennessee on April 14, 1937 to the late Bivian and Leander (Jack) Naylor. She attended Bolivar Central High School. Upon graduation, she moved to Memphis, Tennessee and worked at Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Company where she met her future husband, James L. (Jim) Linker.

Betty enjoyed moving to new locations with her husband, Jim, over the years, as they continued to work in the insurance business. Their careers provided them the opportunity to live in a wide variety of states besides Tennessee, including Arkansas, Texas, Connecticut, and Ohio.

Her interests included traveling, cooking, reading, and genealogy. She also enjoyed spending time with and caring for her beloved dog, Scampi.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, Jack and Bivian Naylor.

Betty is survived by her son and his wife, Brent and Becky Linker; her brother Bob Naylor and his wife Phyllis Naylor, and her granddaughter, Rachel Linker.

Funeral services will be held May 21 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar with Rev. Charlie Carruthers officiating. Interment will follow in Silerton Baptist Church Cemetery.
