Betty J. Long

Mrs. Betty J. Mackin Staggs Long departed this life on Monday October 27, 2014 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 74 Years, 2 Months, 8 Days. She was born August 19, 1940 in Linden, TN, the daughter of the late Jake Jasper and Gracie Adamae Keeling Mackin. In addition to her parents, Mrs Long was preceded in death by brothers, Hillard and Charlie Mackin and sisters, Wilton Richardson and Ethel Wheat.

She was united in marriage to Jesse W. Long on July 2, 1994.

Mrs. Betty was a retired factory worker with Genesco and was a member of Mt. Hope Methodist Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse W. (Joe) Long of Waynesboro, TN;
daughters, Denise Warren and husband, John of Clifton, TN, Gayla Taylor and husband, Paul of Waynesboro, TN, Teresa Mathis and husband, Tom of Clifton, TN and Sabrina Tank and husband, Mark of Columbia, TN; grandchildren; Natasha Moser and husband, Dewayne, Lindsay Creasy and husband, Johnathan, Bo Mathis, Shelly Billman, and Nicholas & Blake Tank; great-grandchildren, Raven, John and James Moser, Husdon Creasy, Brady Billman and Jade Smith; brother, J.D. Mackin and wife, Mary Jo of Linden, TN;
nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Linnette Flood and Thad Calton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing.
Pallbearerswill be Bobby Mackin, Donnie Richardson, Mike Stricklin, Bo Mathis, Brady Billman and Mark Tank.
