BETTY WILLIAMS MCLAUGHLIN
Henderson, TN: Betty Sue Williams McLaughlin, age 77, died Sunday morning, March 25, 2012, at her home in Henderson.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Hamilton, AL, and grew up at Russellville, AL, the daughter of the late Kim Franklin and Artive Moss Williams. She graduated high school at Russellville in 1952 and graduated Florence State Teachers College, now the University of North Alabama. She worked for Jackson County Pensions and Securities, now the Department of Human Resources.
She married Robert Charles McLaughlin in 1963 and they made their home in Scottsboro. She retired from the Pensions and Securities office after working there 30 years. They moved to Henderson in 1998. She was a member of the Finger Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Charles McLaughlin; a son, John McLaughlin and wife Debbie; a daughter, Beth Sanford and husband Joel; four grandchildren, Ethan and Bishop McLaughlin and Abigail and Lily Sanford, all of Henderson; a brother, Kenneth Williams, of Russellville, AL; and a sister, Jimmie Williams, of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Anglin and Dorothy Avery and a granddaughter, Sarah Beth Sanford, in 2003.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Union Cemetery near Woodville, AL with Alex Bayes and Nesbitt Sanford officiating.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday.
