Betty Moore was born on February 17, 1939, the daughter of the late Claude May and Gladys Hollins-Bridgman, who preceded her in death. Betty Moore departed this life on April 3, 2017, at the age of 78 years,1 month, and 17 days.
Betty attended Stantonville Church of Christ. Before living in Hardin County, she lived in Guys, Tennessee. She was the co-owner of Gammill Shell Company, and she also worked as a seamstress for Garan Manufacturing. Betty loved her grandchildren, helping others, cooking, flowers, and going to thrift stores. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed John Wayne westerns, her family, God, Jesus, and her church.
Betty is survived by her sons, Johnny Gammill and wife Reda of Counce, Tennessee, Phillip Gammill and wife Jill of Savannah, Tennessee, Gary Gammill of Counce, Tennessee, and Jackey Gammill and wife Ruby of Savannah, TN; daughters, Judy Gray of Nixon Community in Hardin County, Tennessee and Jo Nell Walker of Burnsville, Mississippi; a sister, Shirley Meryl of Adamsville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Megan Gammill, Haley Gammill, James Phillip Gammill, Jenna Gammill, Jordan Gammill, Jessica Gammill, Alex Barnhill, Ashton Jo Gammill, Kenny Gammill, Misty Stricklin, Kassie Gammill, William Gammill, Kim Gammill, Cindy Gammill, DeWayne Boston, Julia Gray, Carla Moss, and TIm Deshazier; 23 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, William S. Gammill; her second husband, Franklin Moore; a son, Jerry Gammill; brothers, Bobby Holt, Melvin Holt, Charles Holt; sisters, Gail Cummings and Helen Hutton; grandchildren, Johnny (Bugs) Boston and Julie Boston; and a great grandchild, Madison Boston.
