Betty June Sparks Myers, 90, of Lexington, NC went home to be with Jesus, Saturday evening September 12, 2026 at her residence.
Betty was born February 15, 1936 the daughter of the late Edward C. Sparks and Minnie Edna Storm Sparks in Cleveland, OK. She was a devoted wife and mother providing a loving home for her family. She served in the local Bible Methodist Church of Savannah, TN and later became a member and Sunday School teacher of Heath Church in Lexington, NC. Betty enjoyed quilting, playing guitar, working in her flowers, reading, and even a good fishing trip. Her faith in Christ and love of family was profoundly important to Betty.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Clifton Rolley Myers; infant daughter, Susan Janette Myers; four brothers and four sisters; great-granddaughter, Andie Faye Dodsworth.
Surviving are her loving children, Randy Myers (Jenny) of Senatobia, MS, Marla Hales (Ken) of Chesnee, SC, Julie Stowe of Lexington, NC, Jason Myers (Jennifer) of Thomasville, NC; sister, Juanita Foreman of KS; eight beloved grandchildren: Melodie Barmer (Matt), Paul Myers (Melissa), Misty Burton (Tim), Jesse Hales (Rebecca), Kristi Castle (James), Stephanie Jordan (David), Lorinda Dodsworth (Alex), Scarlett Mullins; thirteen great-grandchildren: Addysen Barmer, Abby Haddock (Derek), Grayson Burton, Colton Hales, Elisha Hales, Lydia Hales, Claire Castle, Ben Jordan, Asher Jordan, Jeremiah Jordan, Harmony Jordan, Aubrey Dodsworth, and Griffin Dodsworth; great-great grandchildren: Violet Haddock and Ana Haddock; many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons funeral home in Thomasville, NC. A funeral service will follow Thursday in the J.C. Green Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Daniel Downing officiating. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Morris Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Morris Chapel, TN. The family will greet friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Savannah, TN.
J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home, Thomasville, NC and Shackelford Funeral Home, Savannah, TN will be assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Alderwood Hospice Care Online.
