Betty Jane Smith O'Daniel was born October 4, 1961 in Savannah, Tennessee, the daughter of Bessie Smith and the late Alvin Eugene Smith.
Mrs. O'Daniel was united in marriage on February 26, 1994 to Jerry Lynn O'Daniel, who survives. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She worked as manager of the Walnut Grove Cafe and was previously employed at Savannah Tobacco and Tim Sharp Logging. She loved her family and everyone in the community was her friend. She enjoyed her work and loved to smile and joke around, even as her health declined.
In addition to her husband and mother, Betty is survived by 4 step-children, Corey, Jeremy, and FayLynn O'Daniel all of Paris, TN and Thomas O'Daniel of Dyer, TN; 3 sisters, Barbara Shubert, Wanda Franks, and Becky Lambert; 2 brothers, Garry Smith and Arthur Smith; 8 grandchildren, Jada M. Lee, James H. Lee, Ryan C. O'Daniel, Seth M. O'Daniel, Hunter S. Shaw, Brittany Ingalls, Ashley O'Daniel, and Joseph O'Daniels; 3 great-grandchildren, Jensen M. Brown, Christopher Brown, and Claire Lee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Franks and a brother, Alvin Ray Smith.
