Houston, TX: Betty Jane Cotten Patterson age 89 passed away January 11, 2018 at Tomball Regional Hospital in Tomball, TX.
She was born June 9, 1928 in Amarillo, TX the daughter of the late Otto and Leta Mae French Cotten. She graduated from Grant Union High School in Sacramento, CA and married Osceola Patterson, Jr. They made their home in California for thirty-five years and moved to Florida for a few years and had made their home in Texas since 1982. She was employed at a stock broker’s office. Mr. Patterson died in 1996.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Houston, TX. She was a good Christian woman and the Lord was her stronghold. She enjoyed family and friends.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by two daughters, Gaye Williams (Charles) of Beech Bluff and Melodee Bolt (John) of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Jody (Jeremy) Whitelock, Steven Bolt, Kristine Bolt and Lacey (Rudy) Dodier and three great grandchildren and a sister, LaNelle Bauer of Evansville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Leta Petty.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Jimmy Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
