BETTY SANDERS
was born in Tishomingo County, Mississippi on November 2, 1931 the daughter of the late Bert and Gladys Provience Broughton.
On September 15, 1954 she was united in marriage to James Travis Sanders, who preceded his wife in death on September 25, 2015.
Betty lived in Corinth, Mississippi 1954 to 1963 and worked at the Buck Eye Oil Company and the Warlitzer Company. In 1963 Betty and Travis moved to Savannah, Tennessee and opened Sanders Office Supply, which they ran from 1963 to 1986. She was a member of Adamsville Church of Christ. Betty enjoyed making quilts, reading, and working word puzzles. She always had a big garden and loved to cook. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty departed this life on August 12, 2019 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 10 days.
She is survived by her children, Danna Plunk and her husband Rickey of Adamsville, Tennessee, Tim Sanders and his wife Julie of Asheville, North Carolina and Wendell Sanders and his wife Lavonne of Olive Branch, Mississippi; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Hughes and her husband Jonathan, Justin Moffett and his wife Jill, Savannah Gonzales and her husband Gustavo, Summer Sanders and Misty Plunk Howell and her husband Kevin; great grandchildren, Avery Hughes, Owen Hughes, Luke Roberts, Aubrey Moffett, Mary Congiardo and her husband Zach, Maggie Melton, and Millie Melton; sisters- in- law, Linda Sanders Adams and her husband Ernest of Guys, Tennessee, Dora Berry of Corinth, Mississippi, and Dianna Sanders of Corinth, Mississippi; brother- in- law, Wayne Sanders and his wife Mary Lee of Memphis, Tennessee.
