Betty G. Simmons

Mrs. Betty G. Simmons departed this life on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from injuries due to automobile accident at the age of 75 Years, 4 Months, 18 Days. She was born January 17, 1942 in Fayette, AL the daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Ila Mae Nichols Scrivner.

She was united in marriage to Ted Simmons on November 15, 1957. Mr. Simmons preceded her in death on October 10, 1995 . In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by sons, Ted Allen and Glenn Simmons, 3 sisters

Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker , member of the Iron City Freewill Baptist Church and F.C. E. Ladies organization.

She is survived by sons, Grayson Simmons and John Simmons, (Daphine) all of Ethridge, TN., daughters, Tina Edgar, (Anthony) of Iron City, TN, Mary Young ,(Vince) of Cherokee, Al., daughter in laws, Cathy and Carol, 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and a button, brothers, Leon Scrivner of Double Springs, AL, Allen Scrivner of Birmingham, AL., sister, Jean Oswalt of Fayette, AL.,

Services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Home, in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Stacey Holt and Danny McConnell officiating. Burial will follow in Railroad Cemetery , Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 7, 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, June 8, 10:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood.
