Bettye Weaver

With heavy hearts but grateful spirits, we celebrate the life of Bettye Weaver, who passed away peacefully at her home in Toone on August 13, 2026. Born on January 19, 1953, in Jackson, Tennessee, Bettye’s journey was one marked by resilience, devotion, and quiet joy—a tapestry woven with cherished family, steadfast faith, and a soul uniquely her own.

Raised in the nurturing embrace of Norman Eugene Daniel and Bessie Mae Cox Daniel, Bettye’s early years in Tennessee shaped her into the spirited woman her friends and family came to rely upon. She navigated life’s challenges and triumphs alongside her siblings—those who remain and those who have gone before her—each relationship adding a vibrant thread to her life’s story.

Her industrious spirit found purpose in her work at Murray, Cub Cadet, and Kilgore in Toone. These employments grounded her days in camaraderie and accomplishment until the time arose for rest and a slower pace.

Bettye’s passions radiated into all areas of her life. Tending to her flower beds brought her an enduring sense of beauty and presence, as she lovingly coaxed blossoms from the earth outside her door. No less attentive was she to the sanctuary of her own home, always striving to create comfort within its walls.

She was rooted by faith, an active member of Cloverport Baptist Church. Her Sundays bore witness to heartfelt worship, the embrace of fellowship, and, frequently, the joyous occasion of accompanying her eldest sister to church—times that reflected her devotion and caring nature.

Nothing mattered more to Bettye than her family. Her love was steadfast and nurturing—a beacon for her son, Waylon Vestal; her brother, Bobby Daniel; her sister, Mary Hatch; and her grandson, Mitchell Cole, who survive her and carry her legacy forward. She savored every family gathering, her warmth and laughter ever-present at the heart of each occasion. The memory of those departed—her father and mother, Norman Eugene and Bessie Mae Daniel; her beloved husband, Carroll W. Weaver,  her brothers, Paul and Thomas C. Daniel; and her sister, Ora Mae Williams—remained close in her heart, their presence deeply felt within the fabric of her life.

To her friends, Bettye was a companion in simple pleasures. She found delight in going out to eat on weekends, frequenting Route 64 and Backwoods, cherishing moments of fellowship and laughter that sweetened the weeks. Her gifts as a cook and host were a testament to the love she poured into every meal, nourishment for both body and soul.

Throughout her life, Bettye exemplified kindness, faith, and an unwavering dedication to those around her. Her legacy is one not merely of years, but of the gentle ways she touched those she loved.

Family and friends will gather to honor her memory at a graveside service on August 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Cloverport Baptist Cemetery, Cloverport, Tennessee. As we lay her to rest, we remember her with gratitude, holding close the blessings of her presence and the enduring peace she has found.
