Mrs. Phillips passed from this life early Tuesday morning, March 12, 2013 in Bolivar, Tennessee.
Born September 28, 1919 in Whiteville, TN she was reared by John and Elizabeth Rose Robbins. She was married to Roy Phillips in the late 1930's, who passed in May of 1975, became an LPN and worked at Western Mental Health Institute until she retired in 1981 after 29 years. Mrs. Phillips loved taking care of her grandchildren and enjoyed visiting with co-workers and family. She lived most of her life in Hardeman County.
She is survived by 2 grandchildren, Ricky Phillips and wife Rhee of Jackson, and Angela Jones and husband Tim of Bolivar; 5 great grandchildren, Emma and Rachel Phillips, Anna and Jacob Jones, and Jessica Gates; 3 cousins who were raised as sisters, Lucille Rogers and Geneva Angle both of Memphis and Jeannie Clements of Lexington. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her son Jimmy Phillips; 14 siblings, Cora Belle Farris, Estelle Warf, Ruth Clutts, Willie Logan, Beulah Robbins Hester, Mamie Lancaster, Ruby Hardinger, Frank, Vernon, and Herbert Robbins, Johnny, Paul, Wheeler and Tom Logan; and by 2 cousins who were reared as brothers, Buster and Chester Conner.
