Beverly Carelene Thrasher

Mrs. Beverly Carelene Thrasher, a cherished member of the community, was born on December 5, 1938, in Shelby County, Missouri to her late parents Harold Baker Smith and Laura Davis Smith. She found solace and strength in her faith as a devoted member of Collinwood United Methodist Church. Beverly was the recipient of the Jewell Derryberry award in 2005 after 21 years of faithful and dedicated service in Dr. David Andrews office, where she continued to work for Dr. Andrews for many more years. 

In the quiet moments between the chapters of her life, Mrs. Thrasher found joy and tranquility in tending to her garden, exploring the depths of literature through reading, and embarking on journeys to far-off lands.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Brian Thrasher and Jennifer, her daughter Becky Thrasher, as well as her sisters Camilla Sparks and Don, and Sandy Moreland. Her legacy will also be carried on by her grandchildren Blaine Thrasher and Claire, Torry Thrasher, Lindsey Huggins and Slater; along with her great grandchildren Brody Thrasher, Kylie Thrasher, Lyla Huggins, Ganon Huggins, and J.D. Huggins. Mrs. Thrasher will be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Mrs. Beverly Carelene Thrasher was reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband Billie Lee Thrasher, her daughter Bonnie Thrasher, and her brother Terry Smith who had gone before her.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Mrs. Beverly Carelene Thrasher will be conducted at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 12 to 2 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. The serene grounds of Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN will be a final resting place for Mrs. Thrasher.

In honor of Mrs. Beverly Carelene Thrasher's compassionate spirit and generous heart, donations may be made to the Butterfly Foundation in lieu of flowers.
