BILLIE J. SHELLEY NOLES

 Henderson, TN: Billie Jo Shelley Noles, age 86, passed away January 18, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Billie Jo born November 9, 1937, in Decherd, TN the daughter of the late William Jackson and Minnie Thelma Weddington Shelley. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1955. She met the love of her life, Paul Noles, and they remained married for 62 years.

Billie loved to learn, and she attended Motlow College and Freed-Hardeman University. She loved teaching as well, and became a certified Montessori teacher and director. She operated a Montessori pre-school in her home, and was always excited when she saw her students grow. She audited classes at FHU in her retirement years just to continue learning and keep her mind sharp.

She was an active member of the Henderson community. Billie and Paul attended Henderson Church of Christ. Billie had a lovely singing voice and really enjoyed singing in church. She and Paul loved to cheer for the FHU basketball teams and were at every game they were able to attend. She loved to write poetry and sent poems to the Chester County Independent and other publications. She was also a member of the FHU Associates, Chester County Historical Society, and Family and Community Education Club.

Mrs. Noles was a loving mother to two sons, Paul Stephen Noles of Henderson and Joe Noles (Ramay) of Henderson and five grandchildren, Amber Noles, Emily Noles, Luke Noles, Ella Noles and Emma Noles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul Noles, February 2023, and a brother, John Henry Shelley.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday, January 21^st at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Ben Flatt officiating. Burial will follow at Estes Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM Service time Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Henderson Church of Christ foreign missions fund.
