Billie Jean Wilson, age 79, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026. Born on August 11, 1947, in McNairy County to the late William Clifford Price and Maggie Virginia Hardin Price, Billie Jean was the vibrant matriarch and devoted prayer warrior of her family.

On October 5, 1963, she married the love of her life, Guy Allen Wilson, beginning a devoted union of over six decades. A woman of deep and enduring faith, she was a dedicated member of Gateway Holiness Chapel in Bethel Springs, TN. She possessed a passion for singing in church alongside her sisters, lifting her voice in praise at every opportunity. Though her family deeply mourns the loss of their cornerstone, they rejoice in the absolute assurance that she is now resting safely in her heavenly home.

Billie Jean began her work ethic at a young age at the garment factory in Selmer. Outgoing and exceptionally friendly, she truly never met a stranger and loved nothing more than engaging in long, heartfelt conversations. She was a courageous cancer survivor whose strength inspired all who knew her. Beyond her deep love for her family, Billie Jean had a lifelong passion for genealogy and ancestry research. Her expertise was so well-regarded that community members frequently called on her for guidance in tracing their own family roots. Above all, her greatest joy was being a grandmother and playing a vital, active role in raising her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maggie Price, and her sister, Willie Joyce Barnes.

Billie Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Guy Allen Wilson; her son, Greg Wilson and wife Carol of Bethel Springs, TN; two grandchildren, grandson Ethan Allen Wilson and wife Brooklyn, and granddaughter Mary Grace Flanagan and husband Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Blakelyn Wilson and Brody Wilson; three sisters, Barbara Jo Crouse of Bethel Springs, TN, Faye Ferguson of Bethel Springs, TN, and Doris McLain and husband Jimmy; and two brothers, James Clifford Price and wife Linda of Bethel Springs, TN, and Michael Price and wife Debbie of Bethel Springs, TN.
