Billy Calvin Bain

Billy Calvin Bain was born January 13, 1947 in Florence, Alabama to William Frank Bain and Ann McDaniel Bain who preceded him in death. He is survived by brother, Jimmy Bain (Dolly Bain), sister Pat Prather (Frank Prather), and brother Dr. Steve Bain. Billy enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1966 and completed his tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968. He was united in marriage to Connie Russell Bain in 1969. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters; Marion Bain Bishop (Chris), Paige Bain Stricklin (Craig), and Kelley Bain Surratt (Brandon). They made their home in Savannah, TN where they enjoyed many years watching their family expand to include many grandchildren: Madison Bishop Haggard (Garrett), Trevor Bishop (Elizabeth), Konrad Bishop, Makenzie Bishop, Chance Bishop, Bret Stricklin, Haven Stricklin, Gracie Elizabeth Surratt Mullis (Ethan), and Noah Surratt (Makayla); and 11 great grandsons.

Billy worked in the capacity of Law Enforcement for several years locally, then worked for the Tennessee Department of Corrections in Clifton, Tennessee. He was a Corporal and Drill Instructor for a large number of inmates. This job afforded him the opportunity to become an FBI, Certified Firearms Instructor. This allowed him to train new officers in Firearms safety and accuracy. He enjoyed this position until he retired from TDOC in 2008. He married his current wife on June 2, 2000, Rebecca Daniel Bain, and gained additional family, his stepchildren, Vince Daniel, Brandon Daniel (Megan), and Tyrell Daniel; step grandchildren, Kayla Danielle Gallaher (Shawn), Dakota Filyaw (Adam), Gracie Daniel, Brandy Daniel, Lane Daniel, and Chloey Daniel; and several step great grandchildren. They made their home in a quiet, peaceful area of Hardin County where Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing and family gatherings. He especially enjoyed fellowship with his extended family to include singing, dancing and eating good food. He had many good friends. He succumbed to his illness on January 12, 2026. He would have been 79 years old on Jan. 13, 2026.
