BILL BARRETT

Henderson, TN: Billy Ray Barrett age 70, passed away December 9, 2020 at his home.

He was born June 6, 1950 in Jackson and grew up in Chester County, the son of the late Johnnie Ray and Dorothy Jane Horton Barrett. He entered the U.S. Army in 1970 and served stateside in Washington, DC during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Goldsmith’s in Memphis for several years, where he did HVAC work. He married Sara Stephens in 1986. They made their home in Memphis, Horn Lake, MS and Ocala, FL, before moving to Henderson, where he was a self-employed HVAC installer. He was a member of A New Beginning Church. Mrs. Barrett preceded in 2007.

Bill was a handyman “Mr. Fix it”. He loved working on cars.

Mr. Barrett is survived by a son, Zach Barrett and wife Tiffani of Jacksonville, FL; a grandson, Tyler Schweigert;a sister, Pat Jones (Ray)of Henderson and two nephews, Donald and Mike Jones.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 15th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Zach Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday.
