BILLY E. DICKSON
Jacks Creek: Billy Eugene Dickson age 69 passed away December 25, 2020 at his home.
He was born February 16, 1951 in Henderson County, the son of the late Vester Ernest and Lela Hart Dickson. He grew up in Jacks Creek and was a 1969 graduate of Chester County High School. He then attended Jackson State Community College where he earned an Associate Degree in Computer Science. He married Vicki Ross in 1971 and they made their home at Jacks Creek.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was very active in community and church ministries. He was a founding member of the Chester County Rescue Squad, former volunteer member of the Jacks Creek Fire Department and Building Trades teacher at Chester County High School from 1977-1982. He built turnkey houses for fifteen years then started K-2 Woodworks to build custom cabinetry until 2017.
He was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church but had been attending and considered Shiloh Baptist Church home.
He joined teams of missionaries for trips to Guatemala where they built a boys dormitory for an orphanage and went to Eastern KY to deliver food supplies. He was also a founding member of Faith, Hope and Love food ministries in Henderson.
He selflessly gave his time, resources and talents to anyone in need.
He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandsons.
Mr. Dickson is survived by his wife, Vicki Jewel Ross Dickson: two daughters, Kami Carlson (Keith) of Henderson and Keisha Jones (Donald) of Henderson and five grandchildren, Victor Carlson, Alex Jones, Aiden Jones, Peter Carlson and Brendan Carlson.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 31st at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Sammy McAdams and Keith Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in Roby Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday.
