Billy Evans

Billy Evans departed this life on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 9 days. He was born on October 21, 1935, the son of the late Joe B. and Gladys Inez Yawn Evans. On August 12, 1961, he was united in marriage to Katherine Richmond, who survives.

Billy was a Journeyman Sheet Metal Mechanic and Welder for Local #33 in Columbus, Ohio, serving the local for 64 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, camping, and loved to travel.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathy of Savannah, Tennessee; children, George Evans and his wife Carolyn of Montville, Connecticut, Karen Chambers and her husband Dusty of Savannah, Tennessee, Judy Cannon and her husband Randy of St. George, Georgia, and Kenny Evans of St. George, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandy, Corey, Shannon, Jessica, Kyle, and Kenny; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Kira, Sookie, Skylar, Jackson, Colton, Charlotte, Carson, and Olivia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lavonia Goings and brother, Samuel Evans.
