Billy Gene Franks

Billy Gene Franks, was born December 20, 1938 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late Ray and Frances Bridges Franks.He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Dicus on November 7, 1959.

Mr. Franks attended the First Baptist Church in Waynesboro and worked for Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company serving as a lumber Grader for many years.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Franks of Waynesboro, TN; a son, Jerry Wayne Franks and wife Jennifer of Waynesboro, TN; two daughters, Debbie Curtis and husband Jarvis of Lawrenceburg, TN, Teresa Bell and husband Ricky of Burns, TN; a brother, Joel Franks of Savannah, TN; three sisters, Betty Blackwelder of Savannah, TN, Glenda Ricketts of Addison, TX, Patricia Hutton of Savannah, TN; five grandchildren, Tanya Horton and husband Joey, Hannah Franks and husband Conrad, Patrick Bell and Brittany, Heather Franks, Bradley Franks; two great grandchildren, Allie Belew, Jamie Horton;


In addition to his parents, Mr. Franks was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Franks; a grandchild, Haley Belew;

A Graveside Service will be held on September 12, 2019 at the Clifton Cemetery in Clifton, Tennessee with John E. Banks officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors are in charge of the services.
