Billy Horton

Billy Horton was born February 2, 1934 in Wayne County, TN the son of the late Luther Horton and Leona Sherrill Horton Henson and stepfather, Edward Henson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Horton was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Raymond, and Leland Horton. Mr. Horton died Sunday, August 2, 2015 Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 6 Months. He loved farming and raising cattle. He worked as a mechanic at Jack Yeiser Chevrolet during his younger years and later worked as a machinist. He retired from the Wayne County Highway Department as a supervisor in 1996. Mr. Horton was a member of Collinwood Freewill Baptist Church. He was united in marriage to Yvonne Millican in 1956, who survives of Florence. They have two children,
Joani Daniel and husband Alan and Randy Horton and wife Sherry all of Iron City, TN, four grandchildren, Alana Perry and husband Thomas of Trinity, AL, Kyle Horton and wife Brandi of Cypress Inn, TN, Teryn McNeal and husband Dustin of Nashville, TN, and Lesley Daniel of Jackson, TN, they also have seven great grandchildren and one on the way. He is survived by a brother, Otha Horton and wife Betty and two sisters, Lucille Barkley and Lillian Montgomery all of Cypress Inn, TN, also several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee with Tim Hanback and John E. Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Herbert Luker, Mike Smith, Larry Wright, Neal Stricklin, Johnny Holt, and Kyle Horton. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00-9:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
