Billy Ross Jackson departed this life at the age of 60 years 10 months and 17 days at Matagorda Regional Medical Center in Bay City, TX on January 21, 2026. He was born March 4, 1965 in West Memphis, Arkansas the son of the late Clifford Dean and Glenda Marie Hammock Jackson.

Billy married (his Doll) Beth LaVon Cummings on March 15, 1985 who survives.

Billy was a heavy equipment operator for most of his adult life and was well known as "one of the best." He was employed with Luhr/Crosby Construction out of Columbia, IL. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and playing golf with his family and friends.

Other than his wife, Billy leaves behind fours sons, Joseph Jackson (Tiffany), Clifford Jackson (Samantha), Caden Wellson (Cory) and Heath Jackson all of Counce, TN; a nephew, Chad Franks of Los Angeles, CA that he considered his son; two daughters, Earla "Peewee" Jenkins (Robby) and Mackenzie "baby girl" Jackson (Tyler Franks);

six grandbabies, Payton Jackson, Alydia Jenkins, River Jenkins, Paige Jackson, Corbyn Jackson, and Walker Tate Jackson all of Counce, TN; sister, Lisa Fernandez of Miami, FL; a brother, James Jackson of Hopkinsville, KY; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who were like family especially his work buddies.

Billy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifford and Pauline Jackson of New Madrid, MO and McKinley "Bud" and Irene Hammock of Savannah, TN, Martha Tucker of Counce, TN.

Many more kids called him Dad because that's who he was to them. To know Billy was to love him and nicknames was something he gave to many especially his children.

Pallbearers will be his boys: Joe (Meathead) Jackson, Clifford (Spud) Jackson, Heath (Grasshopper) Jackson, Robby (Robbo) Jenkins, Tyler (Ty Ty) Franks, and Doyle (Bubba) Poppy.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Caden (Dog) Wellson, River (Goober) Jenkins, Corbyn (Newt) Jackson and Walker Tate (TatorTot) Jackson.
