Sardis, TN: Billy Howard Johnson age 70 passed away January 20, 2015 at Tri-Star Centennial Hospital in Nashville, TN.
He was born December 19, 1944 in Sebring, FL the son of the late Joseph and Marie Albritton Johnson. He married Beverly Jean Reynolds on February 8, 1964. He worked for the City of Fort Pierce, FL as a heavy equipment operator and retired after twenty-eight years. They moved to Sardis, TN in 1991 and six months later he began working with the City of Adamsville for nineteen years and retired in 2009. He enjoyed raising cattle. He loved to eat and visit at the Reagan Café and get biscuits at Jacks Restaurant. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and giving then candy.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Jean Reynolds Johnson of Sardis; three sons, Michael Johnson and wife Kristi of Adamsville, Billy Howard Johnson of Henderson and Richard Joseph Johnson and wife Kimberly of Sardis, TN; a sister, Dorothy Smith of Okeechobee, FL and two brothers, Jake Johnson of Okeechobee, FL and Phillip Johnson of Sardis, TN; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lilly Bell Carter and Hazel Tindal and three brothers, Lonzo Taylor, Sr., Frank Taylor and Bud Johnson.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Malcolm Carter, II officiating and burial will follow in Adamsville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 6 PM until 9 PM on Friday.
