Billy Larry Kemp

Billy Larry Kemp was born November 17, 1928 in Adamsville, Tennessee the son of the late L. D. and Grace Harris Kemp. He was a millwright by trade and well known for his love of Hudson automobiles. He was a member of the American Legion, having served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1953. He was former President and then treasurer of the Mid South chapter of the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club, holding each office for several years. He retired from the Tennessee River Pulp and Paper Company in Counce, TN, in 1991. On September 11, 1948, he was married to Laverle Plunk, who survives. They made their home in Adamsville, TN , for most of their life. He was a member of the Faith Pointe church in Adamsville, TN.He passed from this life on October 29, 2009 after a short illness, at Savannah Helathcare in Savannah, TN at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 12 days.In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Phillip Kemp and wife Mary Ann of Fayetteville, TN; two grandchildren, Amanda Petzak and husband Tom of Murfreesboro, TN, Jonathan Kemp and wife Angie of Fayetteville, TN; a sister, Jane Frey and husband Frank of Nashville, TN; as well as several cousins, two nieces, a nephew, and his faithful companion Rusty.
