BILLY FAYE NEWMAN
Henderson, TN: Billy Faye Newman age 81 passed away Friday July 17, 2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born February 16, 1934 in Finger, the son of the late George Atlas and Gladys Mae Akin Newman. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1954. He served as an aircraft mechanic as a hydraulics specialist serving in Alaska, Oklahoma, Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, France, Germany, Mississippi, Thailand, Texas and Arizona. He married Mandy Wicks in 1966. He retired from the Air Force in 1975 and they made their home in Henderson.
He worked a few years at Westside Small Engines with Larry Beshires and then worked several years in residential construction with Jerry Beshires.
He loved repairing and restoring antique cars.
He is survived by his wife, Madeleine Louise (Mandy) Wicks Newman; two sons, Damon Newman and wife Marla of Henderson and Derrick Newman of Henderson; two daughters, Tammy Taylor and husband Roger of Hydro, OK and Anna Malone and husband Brian of Henderson; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Junior Newman and Guy Newman both of Henderson and two sisters, Joy Mae Oliver and Joyce Rae Beshires both of Henderson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday July 21, 2015 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Dr. Roger Penn officiating and burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday.
