Billy Wayne Speck was born February 15, 1934 in New Albany, MS, the son of the late William Holder Speck and Fannie Sue Cox Speck. He departed this life on May 13, 2023 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 2 Months, 28 Days.
He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Pannell on October 24, 1953.
Billy was a faithful member of Lakeview Church until his health declined and he was unable to attend. He had a great love for the church and southern gospel music. His best times in life were traveling and singing with his family for many years. He sold Industrial Blow Pipe for a living and traveled to many places while doing so. He even took classes and got his pilot's license so he could fly himself and go where needed for his job. He was a great provider for his family. He and his wife, Betty, were married 69 years. She is heart broken and has said "I don't know how to do life without him and after 69 years I can't remember him not in my life."
In his younger years he loved hunting. He was also Airman Third Class in the 8710th Motor Vehicle Squadron in the air Force and completed Airmans Basic Training at Memphis Air Force Base in 1953.
He was very outgoing, loved to joke and laugh but raised his children with a very stern hand.
He will be greatly missed.
