Billy Merle Spencer departed this life on Sunday, August 25, 2019, at the age of 75 years, 2 months, and 20 days. He was born in Savannah, Tennessee on June 5, 1944, the son of the late Willie K. and Mazie Irene Horton Spencer. On December 11, 1965, he was united in marriage to Robbie Jo Gravett, who preceded him in death on September 27, 2018.

Billy was a pipe welder for Benchmark Mechanical and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Iron Workers Local #103. He had lived most of his life in Hardin County, Tennessee, with the exception of 17 years that he spent in Kentucky. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, visits from family and friends. He was an avid musician, and could play the piano and guitar, and in his earlier years he was a member of a quartet. Billy was a devoted husband and father. He was a member of the New Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

Billy is survived by his sons, Tracy Murle Spencer, Kevin Joseph Spencer, and William Robert Spencer and his wife Canopi, all of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Emma Grace Spencer, Garrett Kirk Spencer, Carley Rae Spencer, Catelyn Ruth Spencer, Anna Claire Spencer, Carrie Irene Spencer, and Bella Jo Spencer; brothers, James K. Spencer of Savannah, Tennessee, Jon Anthony Spencer of Stantonville, Tennessee, and Jerry David Spencer of Adamsville, Tennessee; and sister, Becky Nell Spencer Bridges of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents and wife, Billy was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Spencer Willbanks.
