Billy Joe Story

Billy Joe Story departed this life on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at the age of 77 years, 5 months, 2 days.

He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 11, 1936, the son of the late Maudie Story. On December 17, 1956, he was united in marriage to Sue Perry, who preceded him in death on February 11, 2014. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1954 thru 1957. Billy Joe had worked as a deckhand on a tugboat for Alter Barge Company in Paducah, Kentucky. He had also been self employed as a mechanic working at, P&C Texaco in Savannah and Baldy Smith Truck Stop. He enjoyed fishing and being with his grandkids.

Billy Joe is survived by his daughter, Belinda Wolfe and husband, Michael of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Joe Story and wife, Diane of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Zachary Lynn Wolfe of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Christy Ann Shelby, and Jolie Ann Story both of Savannah, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Faith Ann Shelby and J.C. Shelby; nephews, John Robert Story and Oneal Story both of Selmer, Tennessee.

In addition to his mother and wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christi Diane Story Patterson.
