Bob R. Kennedy was born December 17, 1924 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Joseph Oscar and Laura Lee Cooksey Kennedy.He was united in marriage to Etta Hendrix who survives.Mr. Kennedy was a Sales and Installation Representative for Alcoa Aluminum Siding for 40 years and a former barber. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee and a former member of West Shiloh Baptist. He was a life long Gospel singer and music director at West Shiloh Baptist. Mr. Kennedy was a United States Army infantry veteran of World War II where he earned the Purple Heart after being wounded in service. Mr. Kennedy departed this life on June 15, 2009 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 5 Months, 29 Days. He is survived by his wife Etta (Hendrix) Kennedy of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Nelda Harrison of Jackson, TN; three sons, Ralph Kennedy of Selmer, TN, Mark Kennedy of Selmer, TN, David Kennedy of Selmer, TN; 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.In addition to his parents, Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Barber; three brothers, Grady Kennedy, Eldon Kennedy and Mayford Kennedy.
