Mr. Blackley passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 2011 at Methodist LeBonheur Hospital in Germantown.
A native of Dyer County, he was born November 30, 1942 to the late Orbie Blackley and Helen Palmer Blackley and lived in Whiteville since 1976. Mr. Blackley was an HVAC instructor at Tennessee Technology Center at Whiteville and worked at Blackley Refrigeration. He served as president of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society for the entire Southern United States. Mr. Blackley was a member of Bogota Church of Christ in Dyer County.
He is survived by a long-time companion, Anne Griffin of Whiteville; five sisters, Shirlene Parker of Dyersburg, Faye Green of Lexington, NC, June Butler of Martin, Pat Carroll of Alhambra, IL and Glenda Taylor of Nashville; a brother, Terry Blackley of Dyersburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Halbert and Evie Palmer.
