Bobby Mullins

Henderson: Bobby Charles Mullins, “Peanut,” to many of his friends, age 89, passed away at his home on Friday morning, September 4, 2026.

Bobby was born in Henderson, TN on November 8, 1936, son of the late Robert Howard and Faye Ruth Ledbetter Mullins. He grew up in Henderson and was a 1956 graduate of Chester County High School.

He married Nelda Henson on May 24, 1957 and they moved to Memphis where he worked at Dupont. They moved to McNairy County in 1971 and lived in Bethel Springs. They became co-owners of Mullins-Henson Ford Tractor Dealership in Henderson with Jimmy and Sharon Henson. Nelda preceded him in death on June 1, 2017.

In addition to his work at the tractor dealership, Bobby also farmed and raised hogs and cattle for many years. He was an entrepreneur and old-time horse trader. He was a member of Forty Forks Baptist Church.

Bobby was a devoted family man and loved being surrounded by family.

He is survived by a daughter Pam Sage (David) of Oxford, MS; four grandchildren Josh Sage (Debra), Alex Blackburn (Zachary), Joey Mullins, Glenn Mullins (Brooke); seven great grandchildren Karlee Jo Mullins, Harper Daye Mullins, Charley Nicole Mullins, Avery Grace Sage, Lillian Mae Sage, David Wayne Sage, and Luca Kaye Blackburn; and a sister-in-law Connie Mullins of Selmer, TN.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife Nelda, Bobby was preceded in death by a son Tim Mullins; brothers Nicky and George Mullins; and a sister Debbie Hurst.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson’s Crook Avenue Chapel with Frank Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Woodville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
