Mr. Myers passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Mason, TN, he was the son of the late David Franklin Myers, Sr. and Alma Lorena Leath Myers. Mr. Myers graduated with the Class of 1959 from Fayette County High School in Somerville and also served in the TN National Guard for 10 years. On November 1, 1963, he was married to Patsy Bryant, who survives, and moved to Bolivar where he lived the remainder of his life.
Mr. Myers worked in automotive sales for Johnny Johnson Motor Company in Bolivar for 33 years and also with his son, Robert, at Pioneer Outdoor Sports for 15 years. He had formerly worked for Darnell Motor Company in Bolivar. Mr. Myers was a member of the Bolivar First United Methodist Church. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, flowers and all kinds of plants. He spent many hours caring for those in the community in need. He especially enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing on the farm.
Mr. Myers is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patsy Bryant Myers of Bolivar; his daughter, Erin (Nathan) Myers Ubelhor of Toone; his son, Robert (Judy) Myers of Bolivar; two brothers, Ralph (Sandra) Myers and Donnie (Beverly) Myers, both of Somerville; sister, Bertha Thomas of Stanton, TN; eight grandchildren, Holly (Frankie) Moon of Stanton, Robin Myers of Bolivar, Nicole Baker of Hornsby, Krista Doles of Bolivar, Brittany Johnston of Camp Lejeune, NC, Joseph Myers of Bolivar, Drew and Kaden Ubelhor, both of Toone; and five great-grandchildren, Dalton Hill, D. J. Moon, Riley Crouse, Gracie and Naudia Doles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David F. Myers, Jr. and Bill Myers.
