Bonnie Johnson Merriman, age 99, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on October 15, 2026, at Maury Regional Hospital.

 A long-time resident of Waynesboro, TN, she was a member of First Fellowship Church. She served on the Wayne County Election Commission for forty years and enjoyed volunteer work with the American Heart Association. Many will remember her through her employment at Wayne County Bank and at Town and Country Dress Shop.

She was the daughter of the late George Edmonson Johnson and Oma Risner Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Shields “Snooks” Merriman, her son Jerry Floyd Merriman, her daughter Bridget Merriman Berman, son-in-law Irwin Elliott Berman, and her sisters Jacqueline Taylor, Pebble Nahoum, and Leoda Brown.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Laura Merriman of Lawrenceburg, TN; two grandsons Robert Whitby Merriman (Kara) of Christiana, TN; Jonathan Harris Merriman (Sandi) of Lawrenceburg, TN; and four great grandchildren Scarlett Elizabeth Merriman, Victoria Kennedy Merriman, Jack Harris Merriman, Devyn Olivia Merriman; and sister Barbara Daniel of Collinwood, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service and Internment will be held at Shields Cemetery at a later date with Pastor N. J. Pope officiating.
