Brenda G. Lawson

Brenda G. Lawson of Jackson, TN, was born December 16, 1947 in Guntown, MS, the daughter of the late Delmer E. and Birdie Rodgers Funderburk. She departed this life on December 5, 2018 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 70 Years, 11 Months, 19 Days.

Mrs. Lawson was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and daughter of Christ. She always was shining with the light of God and truly knew how to love people. Brenda was a faithful pastor's wife, serving in Church of God of Prophecy congregations for over 50 years.

She is survived by her husband, Pastor James L. Lawson of Jackson, TN; two sons, Michael David Lawson (Pam) of Dyersburg, TN, Anthony "Tony" Paul Lawson of Jackson, TN; a grandchild, Brittany Nicole Lawson-Stroup of Dyersburg, TN; a grt-grandchild, Brayden Allan Stroup; two sisters, Dorothy Autrey of Marietta, MS, Charlotte Lard (Rob) of Iuka, MS; a brother, Larry Funderburk (Charlene) of MS; and a special friend and caregiver, Gail Marsh

In addition to her parents, Mrs Lawson was preceded in death by a grandchild, Stephen Michael Keith Lawson; two sisters, Geraldine Palmer and Barbara Morton.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 5:30-8 pm and on Sat. from 9 am until services at 11 am all held at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, Tennessee, with Richie Horner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Hill Memorial Gardens at Bethel Springs, Tennessee.
