BRENDA MOORE

Henderson, TN: Brenda Joyce Moore, age 81, passed away July 13, 2023, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born in Chester County September 26, 1941, daughter of the late Catherine Rankin. She grew up in the Hickory Corner Community and was a 1959 graduate of CCHS.

She was a great basketball player and was also named Miss CCHS her senior year.

She drove a school bus for Chester County Board of Education for 35 years and worked at Millers Big Star for about 40 years concurrently retiring when Big Star sold. She worked those jobs with her best friend Peggy Whitman who preceded her just a week before her.

She loved her dog Mindy and her grandogs.

She was a devoted mother, giving special care to her son Kenny.

She is survived by a son, Kenny Moore of Henderson, TN; daughter, Sherrye Moore of Henderson, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and cousin, Bill Rankin who was raised as a brother.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday July 16, 2023, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue on Sunday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time.
