BRENT ETHINGTON

Silerton, TN: Brent Lynn Ethington, age 51, passed away Friday evening June 30, 2023, at his home near Silerton.

Brent was born in Yuba City, California and grew up in Marysville, CA., the son of the late Harold Lynn Ethington and Charlotte Lee Greene Ethington Holloway. He attended schools at Toone and Bolivar. He worked in car audio and electronics in Selmer. He earned several certificates in diesel tech and auto tech.  He worked at Ryder and Freightliner as a diesel mechanic.  His career in auto and trucking took him to work at MCM in Jackson and Steve Sweat Body Shop in Selmer as an auto painter. He worked as an air-compressor installer and repairman at West Tennessee Air Compressor at Pinson.

He created funeral memorial videos for the funeral homes in Henderson and was very creative in his productions.  He loved music and enjoyed serving as the audio-video tech at church.  He enjoyed writing poetry, motorcycling, car shows, fishing, and installing car auto systems. He loved his two dogs: Bo and Pete.

He is survived by his wife Kristie Rayburn Ethington; two sons, Zachary Rayburn and wife Dalayna of Henderson and Brett Ethington of Jackson; two sisters, Donna Christopher and husband Jeff of Lignier, PA and Cherie Bryant and husband Tim of Bolivar and a stepbrother Junior Holloway and wife Jessica of Martin, IN.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Lamar Hollaway.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors East Main Chapel with Rev. Lee Marek, Rev. Tim Bryant, Cherie Bryant, and Rev. James Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Silerton Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford – East Main from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday.
