Mr. Morris Brett Denton, age 49 of Bolivar, Tennessee passed from this life Sunday, December 27, 2015.
He was born Monday, November 21, 1966 to Rosemary Denton of Bolivar, who survives, and the late Harry Morris Denton. On September 1, 2014, he was united in marriage to Mechelle Denton, who survives.
He was a a third generation graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy, and also graduated from Fayette Academy. He was a licensed paramedic, a top-trained fire fighter in West Tennessee, a volunteer with the Hardeman County Sheriff's Department, and a volunteer liaison at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, winning several awards for his volunteer hours.
He was also a former executive for Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed the outdoors in many ways including duck hunting, training golden retrievers for duck hunting, and being a guide at Reelfoot Lake. He also knew the Hatchie River well.
He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Bolivar.
Brett had a great talent for loving people and helping those in need, as well as making people laugh. His family meant everything to him and he never met a stranger.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Denton is survived by his daughter, Lauren Denton Logan of Bartlett; son, Hunter Morris Denton of Bolivar; sisters, Rosemary Carter and husband Tim of Ripley, Tennessee, and Margaret Denton of Bolivar; brothers, Brad Denton and wife Beverly of Jackson, and Boyette Denton and wife Melissa of Bolivar; a grandchild on the way, John William Logan; and stepchildren, Michael Tidwell, Heather Tidwell and Courtney Tidwell, all of Galt, California.
