In Loving Memory of Brodie Eldridge Davis

Brodie Eldridge Davis, age 83, of Savannah, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, at Hardin Medical Center. Born on November 26, 1941, in Selmer, Tennessee, Brodie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring impact.

From a young age, Brodie was a standout athlete—recognized as one of the top five basketball players at Central High School, where he made his mark on the court with skill, leadership, and heart. That passion followed him to Lambuth College, where he continued to play with determination and pride.

While attending Lambuth College, Brodie joined the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, where lifelong friendships were forged and he met the love of his life, Bobbie Pace from Mayfield, Kentucky. They were married on January 21, 1962, and together they built a beautiful life anchored in love, family, and devotion for 63 years.

A true enthusiast of life’s adventures, Brodie had a passion for fast cars and boats and was a regular fixture at the Daytona 500 each year. After retirement, the golf course became his happy place—if the weather was agreeable, so was he. Known for glancing at the clock during Sunday services to make sure he’d make his tee time, Brodie brought that same playful spirit to relaxing weekends at his cherished cabin in Waterloo, Alabama.

Brodie was a long-standing member of First United Methodist Church in Savannah, where he found spiritual grounding and a caring community. His professional career as an agent with Equitable Life Assurance Society (ELAS) was marked by exceptional dedication and service, earning him a place in ELAS's prestigious Hall of Fame. Though he officially retired at age 55, Brodie never stopped working—instead, he found joy and purpose engaging with local car lots, often embracing the role of “comedy relief,” a title he wore proudly and with humor that lifted everyone around him.

Brodie and his wife were the heartbeat of every party—gliding through each song like seasoned performers. There’s something timeless and magnetic about couples who have that unspoken rhythm together. When they danced, it wasn't just movement—it was storytelling in motion. You could practically hear the room pause just to admire them.

His senior high school quote defined his life. Love of life, sports, and laughter, These things first; work comes after. It was a delightful little manifesto for a life well-lived! It captures that youthful spark—the joy in living, playing, laughing, and not letting the grind overshadow what makes life beautiful. If you knew Brodie, you know this was true!

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bobbie; daughter Ann Marie (Patrick) Bishop of Glen Allen, Virginia; and grandchildren Padyn and Zach, who knew him lovingly as “Grandy.” He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who were blessed by his laughter, kindness, and unwavering support.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Michael; brothers Paul C. and Billy; sister Mary Lou and brother-in-law Steve Smith; his parents, Paul and Dulcie Davis; his in-laws, Homer and Ruth Pace of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Godparents Denny and Inez Hughes of Camden, Tennessee.

He will be remembered as a storyteller, a source of steady wisdom, and a soul whose gentle strength brought light to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in every life he touched—and in the love he cultivated so generously.
