Brodie Sumler

Brodie Sumler was born May 23, 1927 in Gibson County, TN. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pocahontas, Tennessee where he gave his heart to Jesus. Brodie was retired from U.S. Steel after 31 years as a Crane Operator. He was a avid golf player and started caddying at a young age. Brodie loved his wife, family, church, pastor and friends.

Mr. Sumler departed this life on December 18, 2015 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 88 Year Old.

He is survived by his wife Thelma Willis Sumler of Pocahontas, TN; a son, Robert Sumler (Sharon) of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Jason Sumler of Dallas, TX, Alan Sumler (Sarah) of Boulder, CO; a stepdaughter, Wanda McCalip (Vince) of Grand Junction, TN; three stepsons: Rickey and Keith Hazlegrove both of Pocahontas, TN and Kevin Hazlegrove (Kim) of Gary, IN; seven step grandchildren: Jessica, Krissie, Justin, Isaac, Adam, Hannah and Heather; and four step great grandchildren.

Mr. Sumler was preceded in death by his father, Willie Sumler (Aubrey); his first wife, Evelyn Sumler; and numerous siblings.
