Burl H. Shackelford

Burl H. Shackelford was born May 14, 1913 in Madison County, Tennessee the son of the late Robert and Ellie Williams Shackelford.He was united in marriage to Allie Lucille Thompson Delaney, who preceded him in death on January 20, 2008.Mr. Shackelford retired from the US Navy after serving for 22 years, 3 months. He was a member of the Saltillo Baptist Church and the Memphis Shriners.Mr. Shackelford departed this life on October 23, 2009 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 5 Months, 9 Days.He is survived by a stepdaughter, Betty Holland of Knoxville, TN; three stepsons, Jimmy Delaney of Saltillo, TN, Robert Delaney of Scotts Hill, TN, David Delaney of Saltillo, TN; a brother, Robert G. (Bob) Shackelford of Jackson, TN; 9 Step-Grandchildren, 8 Step-Great-Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Shackelford was preceded in death by two brothers, Leland Shackelford and Bill Shackelford; three sisters, Aline Townsend, Ruth Armstrong, and Annie Louise Shackelford.
