Burt Meeks

In Loving Memory

Burton Edward Meeks, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

A devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Burt lived a full and meaningful life centered around family, hard work, and the things he loved. He will be remembered for his kind heart, steady presence, and the countless memories he created with those closest to him. Burt had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, finding peace and enjoyment in the woods and on the water. He also took great pride in his garden, where he spent many hours tending the soil and enjoying the fruits of his labor. One of his special pleasures was making wine, a craft he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. More than anything, Burt treasured his family. He was a loving father and proud grandfather who took great joy in watching his family grow. His stories, laughter, wisdom, and the traditions he passed down will remain a cherished part of their lives.

He leaves behind his four daughters, Donna Kellick of Franklin, TN, Lori Meeks of Memphis, TN, Natalie McGraw (Randy) of Trinity, FL, and Stacey McQuirter (Mike) of Summerfield, FL; a son, Rick Meeks (Kristi) of Middleton, TN; a sister, Doris Henry (Robert) of Ripley, MS; his grandchildren, Brian Mullins, Justin Mullins, Julia Reynolds, Dena McQuirter, Michael McQuirter, Matt Meeks, Mark Meeks, and Tanya Sandoval; his great-grandchildren, Drew Otero, Maddie Mullins, Anna Kate Mullins, Truman Mullins, and Alex Mullins; his loving partner, Faye Tomlinson of Middleton, TN; and many other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Harrison Meeks and Lessie Crum Meeks; his wife, Carolynn W. Meeks; an infant son, Eddie Meeks; and two brothers and five sisters. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the family he loved, the garden he tended, the stories he told, and the many lives he touched. His legacy is one of love, family, hard work, and a life well lived.

Rest peacefully, Dad and Paw Paw.

You will forever be loved and remembered.
