Callie May

Callie T. May departed this life on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at the age of 98 years, 8 months, 13 days.Callie Tidwell May was born February 10, 1914, the daughter of the late Joe and Lillie Ables Tidwell. She was united in marriage to Ray May in 1939. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1993. Mrs. May was a 1934 graduate from Central High School. After graduation she attended Memphis Beauty College and after graduating opened her own business, Callie\'s Beauty Shop. She was a former Cub Scout Den mother, a member of the Business and Professional Women, and the First Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School for many years.Mrs. May is survived by a son, Tom May of Savannah, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnny May; grandchild, Brian May; sisters, Ollie DeCourley, Flora DeCourley, and Nita Arendall; brothers, Coy Tidwell, Harry Tidwell, and Nelson Tidwell.
