Calvin Benson

Calvin Benson, departed this life Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at the age of 70 years, 7 months, 7 days.Calvin was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 27, 1941, the son of the late Daniel Arch and Lou Austin Benson. On October 12, 1965, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Harville, who survives. Calvin was a very hard worker and had been a truck driver for Vulcan Materials for 47 years. When he wasn't working, he loved sports, being outside, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Benson of Adamsville, Tennessee; children, Leon Benson and Sharla Stephens both of Adamsville, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Bo Stephens, Derik Stephens, Nathan Benson, and Shayna Nicole Benson; sisters, Bessie Smith, Reba Moore, Ruby Stark, Jenny Lou Mitchell, Peggy Edwards all of Savannah, Tennessee and Gladys Winslow of Jackson, Tennessee; brothers, Clinton Benson, Jerry Benson and Stanley Benson all of Savannah, Tennessee.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dessie Taylor and a brother, Willard Benson.
