Calvin Coolidge Creecy

Calvin Coolidge Creecy of Waynesboro, TN was born December 21, 1924 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late Hobert and Rose Dugger Creecy. He was united in marriage to Naomi Gobbell on December 20, 1946 and she preceded him in death on November 6, 2008.



Mr. Creecy was a farmer and retired factory worker, having worked at Genesco and Murray Ohio Manufacturing. He was a member of the Wayne Furnace Church of Christ in Waynesboro, Tennessee.



Mr. Creecy departed this life on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 1 Month, 19 Days.



He is survived by a son, Alvin Creecy and wife, Mary Jo of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter, Doris Cherry and husband, Charles of Mount Pleasant, TN; grandchildren, Scott Cherry, Kimberly Clayton, Joseph Creecy, Joshua Creecy, Joanna Creecy, Jacob Creecy; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Adam, Caleb, Shelby , Ethan, Katie Jo; a brother, Gene Creecy of Toledo, OH; a sister, Geneva Prince of Ethridge, TN; several nieces and nephews.



In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Creecy was preceded in death by brothers, Elbert, Melvin, and Lewis Creecy; a sister, Lessie Walker.



Services will be Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Wayne Furnace Church of Christ, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cary Crews and Tom Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Joseph Creecy, Joshua Creecy, Jacob Creecy, Scott Cherry, Jason Clayton, and Jimmy Walker.
