Carl Fred Daniel

On May 27, 2024, Carl Frederick Daniel of Collinwood, TN peacefully passed away at the age of 80. He was born on June 11, 1943, to the late Earnest Truman and Virgie Christine Thompson Daniel. Carl Fred's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love of his family.

On June 18, 1967, he embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship with Barbara Johnson. Together, they shared decades of memories that will forever hold a special place in the hearts those who knew them.
 
Growing up on a farm instilled in him a strong work ethic that the way for his successful career as an entrepreneur, merchant, and proud owner of Piggly Wiggly in Wayne County. His roots ran deep in the community where he was not just a member but a cherished member of the First Baptist Church in Collinwood, TN.
 
Beyond his professional endeavors, Carl Fred found true joy in simple pleasures. Whether it was playing golf, fishing by the river, or embarking on new adventures while traveling, his heart was always happiest when surrounded by those he loved. Nothing brought him more pride than watching his grandchildren play sporting events and spending precious time with his family.

Carl Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara Johnson Daniel of Collinwood, TN; sons, Jonathan Carl Daniel (Sherry) of Waynesboro, TN, Kelby Frederick Daniel (Terri) of Russellville, AL, and Grant Allen Daniel (Sheli) of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Jacqueline Suzanne Craven (Sandy) of Oxford, MS; brother, Charles Daniel of Iron City, TN; sisters, Peggy Brewer of Iron City, TN, Betty Jo Stults of Iron City, TN, and Gayle Thompson (Harold) of Iron City, TN; and grandchildren, Jacob (Chase), Tristan (Jordan Murray), Matthew (Elizabeth), Carly, Kaleb, Clayton, and Kalli Beth; great grandchildren, Xander, Nadiya, Ellis, and Campbell; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Carl Fred was preceded in death by sisters, Genene Holt, and Frances Daniel; brothers-in-law, Carlin Brewer, Ray Stults, and Ronald Holt; and sister-in-law, Pat Daniel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 am at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with David Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
