Mrs. Carl Mitchell passed from this life Monday night, February 11, 2013 in Somerville, TN at the age of 92 years 6 months and 5 days.
Mrs. Mitchell was born August 6, 1920 to Bruce and Pearl Crews Chambers in Macon, TN. She married Robert A. Mitchell, October 25, 1936 and was married for 75 years until his passing on September 23, 2012. She lived all her married life in Whiteville, was a founding member of the Whiteville Church of Christ and most recently a member of Macon Church of Christ.
She leaves her son, Robert B. Mitchell and wife Diana of Memphis; six grandchildren, Dr. Bruce Bowling and wife Linda, Faye DeVore, Tannis Pleasants and husband Sammy, Terri Chambers, Greg White and his wife Tina and Bobby Mitchell; 12 great grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two daughters, Alice Ann White and Bruce Goldy Bowling; two sisters, Jo Irby and Sugin Cocke; and a brother Allen Chambers.
