Carl Woods, 80, of Saulsbury, passed away Friday morning, April 8, 2011 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The husband of Frances Wilkerson Woods, who survives, he was the owner of Woods and Sons By-Products since 1973, when he moved to Saulsbury. Mr. Woods was born October 8, 1930 in Waterloo, AL to the late “Charlie†Charles Hampton Woods and “Virgie†Mary Etta Crider Woods and enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling and horses. He served his country in the US Army in Korea and was Christian in belief.
In addition to his wife, whom he married March 11, 1954, he is survived by a daughter, Peggy (Anthony) Moss of Saulsbury; 3 sons, Wayne Woods, Mike (Gloria) Woods, both of Saulsbury and Paul (Jeanette) Woods of Middleton; 3 sisters, Inez Brown of Florence, AL, Betty Pickens and Rachel Mullins, both of Oakland; a brother, Louis Woods of Waterloo, AL; 7 grandchildren, Brandon and Laura Moss, Jennifer, Thomas and Kevin Woods, Andy (Michelle) Woods and Heather (David) Hale; and 7 great grandchildren, Cullin, Lil’ Andy and Hunter Woods, Chad King, Jayce Phillips, McKenzie Johnson and Abby Kate Hale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Woods; and a sister, Irene Ezekial.
