Carla Susanne Godfrey, affectionately known as Susie, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on May 13, 1954, in Selmer, Tennessee, Susie dedicated her life to her passions and her family, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

A proud graduate of McNairy Central High School in 1972, she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Memphis State University. Susie had a vibrant career, owning and operating The Flower Box florist in Selmer, where her creativity blossomed through her beautiful floral arrangements. Additionally, she applied her skills as an accountant at Liberty Building Systems and Elam Trucking in Selmer, where she was known for her professionalism and dedication.

Susie’s interests included spending her summers at Pickwick and enjoying her time on the golf course. These activities brought her great joy and were often shared with family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Kathy Finlayson, of Selmer; her nephews, John Finlayson and wife Valerie of Selmer and Jake Finlayson and wife Rachel of Knoxville; great nieces, Addison, Callie, Emma, and Palmer Finlayson; great nephew Trey Finlayson; her stepson Doug Godfrey and wife Donna of Selmer and stepdaughter Stephanie Ray and husband Jimmy of Ramer; her aunt, Marie Goodrum and husband Jim of Selmer; and many extended family members and friends who will remember her fondly.

Preceding Susie in death were her beloved parents, Carl Franklin and Mary Edith Isbell Moore, her husband, Steve Godfrey, and her aunt, Jo Ann "Bo" Tackett.

Susie's warmth, spirit, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Selmer or the Alzheimer's Association.
