Carol Barnett

Carol Barnett, 88, of Arlington, departed this life Saturday, May 14, 2022, at her son's home in Grand Junction.

She was born Sunday, December 10, 1933, in LaFollette, Tennessee, daughter of the late Walter Blain Heatherly and Clarice Paul Heatherly, and lived in Shelby County prior to moving here in 2012. She was the widow of Richard Barnett and she retired from the City of Memphis, working as a secretary in the budget department. She was active in the Eastern Star and enjoyed her dogs, walking, working crossword puzzles, and cooking and being around her family and friends. Mrs. Barnett was a member of Saulsbury Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Dowdy of Grand Junction. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mildred Hill and a brother, Walter Blain Heatherly, Jr. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate).
