Carol Odell Owens

Carol O. Owens, 82, of Johns Creek, Georgia, died March 16, 2014. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21 at 2:00 p.m.at the Shackelford Funeral Home, Middleton, TN, followed by the funeral at 3:00 p.m. Burial will take place at the Bethel Cemetery in Pocahontas, TN. Carol was a retired SGM who honorably served the U.S. Army for 21 years, and was a bronze star recipient. At the time of his death, Carol held the position as Snark of the Universe for Hoo-Hoo International, a fraternal forestry organization, and was active in the veterans groups American Legion Post 201 and the 40 & 8. Carol was a special man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 55 years, Geraldine, and his son Phillip. Survivors include his daughter Renee Todd, his son-in-law Paul, granddaughters Madison Owens and Tessa Todd, grandson Kristopher Todd, his brother Bill Owens, and sisters Sharron Martinez (Fred), Mary Priddy, and Janet Richardson (Joe), as well as many nieces and nephews.
